Thought we would take this opportunity to let you know about what's happening in the House Of McCarrick. First off, we have a London show on Tuesday 22nd July at The Macbeth in Hoxton, London N1. We will be performing as part of Goodbye Faithful O'Brien (formerly Goodbye Faithful Kingdom) along with The Monroe Transfer and The Sleeping Years. This should be a fine and unique night from the cream of the current underground alternative sound makers. Yup - that includes us...! Full details are on the performance page of our website.
The McCarricks will open the evening at 8.30pm. Tickets £4.00
Next, we have news that may please some of you - we have decided to re-issue our first CD '3'. This was originally released as a limited edition handcrafted art box set - just 200 copies which sold out ages ago - but due to popular demand we have decided to re-issue it in simpler but still cool packaging. It is available from our shop now.
23 minutes of music in all. No 'art box set' this time but we have still added that special McCarrick touch by personally hand printing each sleeve individually. The CD comes in a natural recycled heavy-weight fold-over card wallet and will cost £7.00 including shipping to all destinations. Get them while you can - I can't promise we can keep hand printing the sleeves forever.
The McCarricks have added a track to the forthcoming 'His Name Is Alive' tribute record called 'We Believe You' which will be released soon on USA label Kenedik Records. We have recorded a version of 'Are We Still Married' - very different in style to the original. We will keep you informed of the exact release date but until then an excerpt of the song can be heard on our myspace music player at www.myspace.com/themccarricksmusic
We have recently completed a new film to add to our growing catalogue. 'Strange Nature' is directed by ex Banshee Jon Klein and was filmed on location at the incredible Dungeness Beach earlier this year with a tractor, a fishing trawler, some coloured flags, a bath full of black oil, a junkyard, some crashing waves and an elderly Pixie. It's a beautifully shot film with a simple soundtrack of violin and cello with random radio signals. We can't wait to add it to our show. A clip will appear on our site soon.... We are also still very much engaged in work with PG LOGO - our film collaborators and companions of old (and new).
More news.....Some Of An Equation - the short film by US writer/director Burke Roberts which was scored by The McCarricks is currently receiving huge praise on the international film festival circuit for both the film and the music and is being added to new festival circuits as I write.
The McCarricks are on youtube - with the first official uploads. We are gradually adding some of our audio/visual work to youtube. Just type 'The McCarricks' in to the 'search' box and you'll find us. We will continue to add as and when we feel like it. Big thanks to all that came and supported us at The Batcave last Friday and at Flame and Flesh a few months ago- both were quite spectacular and it was great to see/meet some of you. If anyone has any photos of theses nights that they want to share with us please do so and we'll upload them to the website.
